A few years ago, Nicole Bridge (@NicoleBridge1) couldn’t imagine any use for Twitter in her life. Now she can’t imagine her life without it. Not because she has gotten to follow along with the latest celebrity gossip, but because it has made her a better educator. Nicole currently works as a local math consultant for two middle schools in the Anoka-Hennepin School district and has previously worked for the Minneapolis School District. In both districts, she has been ignited by helping teachers implement new resources and loves experiencing the student successes along with those she guides. A few of her favorites include Which One Doesn’t Belong (Christopher Danielson and Mary Bourassa) Open Middle (Bryan Anderson, Robert Kaplinsky, and Nanette Johnson), and Number Talks (various teachers).

It is fitting that I met Nicole Bridge through NCTM President Sara Vanderwerf. The two share the same genuine enthusiasm for teaching and learning that has inspired me in so many ways. I have personally appreciated her “live tweeting” of conference sessions. For those not familiar with live tweeting, this involves tweeting out highlights and slides of presenters during their session using the hashtag of the conference. Here is an example of Nicole’s live tweeting during the NCTM Regional Conference. Make sure you check out this tweet and all of her amazing others. Now get over to Twitter! What are you waiting for?
