John F. Kennedy High School
Bloomington Public Schools

Education
B.A. Mathematics, University of Minnesota
M.Ed., University of Minnesota

Goals as MCTM Officer
Annually I have made the trek to Duluth in the early spring to reconnect with the amazing network of Math educators in Minnesota. I believe in the expertise of those in the MCTM network and couldn’t imagine a better way to spend a weekend. In 2013 I decided to give back to the community and present at the MCTM Spring Conference and have been presenting ever since. I can’t imagine not paying it forward and becoming more involved in the community. My role as a curriculum coordinator at Bloomington Public Schools afforded me the opportunity to gain perspective on how best to support teachers as they continuously improve. Hopefully as a region director, I could continue to give back to the community using what I learned in my nine years of teaching and the years I spent developing professional development for teachers. I believe that no one person is the expert, but rather, as a team we can all learn from one another. I hope to use my strengths as an educator to build community and facilitate opportunities for new and veteran teachers alike to learn from one another and reinvigorate their passion as math educators.
