Call for Nominations to the MCTM Board of Directors

Do you know someone who would bring valuable experience to the MCTM Board of Directors? Nominations are open for four positions for the next MCTM Board election.

  • Vice-President Middle School
  • Vice-President Higher Ed
  • Region 3 Director & Region 6 Director (map of Regions)

The Board needs a diverse representation of MCTM membership to serve the Minnesota mathematics community. Help the Nominations and Elections Committee identify talented, energetic individuals to work on the mission of MCTM. The Board election is held in February with newly elected Board members beginning a three-year term at the Spring conference April 24, 2025.

Positions open for election in 2025:

Vice-President for Junior High/Middle School 

The Vice-President for Higher Education shall be an educator from a Minnesota college, university, or technical college whose primary professional duties include teaching mathematics and/or teacher education in mathematics. A nominee for Vice-President must be a member of the Council. The Vice-President serves a three-year term.  The Vice-President for Higher Ed provides leadership through committee membership, typically the Professional Practice Committee. 

Vice-President for Higher Education 

The Vice-President for Higher Education shall be an educator from a Minnesota college, university, or technical college whose primary professional duties include teaching mathematics and/or teacher education in mathematics. A nominee for Vice-President must be a member of the Council. The Vice-President serves a three-year term.  The Vice-President for Higher Ed provides leadership through committee membership with CONNECT and Minnesota Math Leaders. 

Directors—Regions 3 and 6 (map of Regions)

Region directors represent the members in their region. The directors are responsible to promote membership in MCTM, to serve as representatives of their regions’ members in the Delegate Assembly, and to identify and work to solve problems that may be specific to mathematics teaching in their region. Nominees for region directors must have been a member of the Council, have a record of involvement in mathematics education, and must work in the region that the director is to represent.
