Meet Jane Juten – Region 8 Director

Hello! My name is Jane Juten and I am the new region 8 director. Region 8 is Northern MN and more. I currently teach 8th grade math at Lincoln Park Middle School in Duluth, MN (Home of the spring MCTM conference!) I have been an MCTM member for several years and have grown a great deal as a teacher through the contacts I have made. 

I have been in education since 1985 teaching in Los Angeles, CA, Germany and Tanzania. I moved back to MN in 1997 and did a number of jobs within education but not classroom teaching until 2013 when I returned to the classroom. I feel like a new teacher but have seen many changes in education. I have taught both middle school and high school mathematics.

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy hiking on the Superior Hiking Trail, knitting, writing and attempting to train our puppy, Henry.
