Upcoming Deadlines

March 31st – The Arnie Cutler Scholarship is available to licensed MN Middle School Teachers currently teaching mathematics in grades 6 to 8. Teachers must have 3 years of teaching experience and expect to continue teaching mathematics.  The Scholarship provides up to $1,200 for coursework that improves a teacher’s understanding of the mathematical content that they teach.  

 

March 15th – Ross Taylor Mathematics Education and Leadership Scholarship is awarded to a mathematics educator for the purpose of attending the annual Ross Taylor Mathematics Education and Leadership Symposium.  Nominations can be made for a colleague or for oneself.

 

MCTM Foundation Book Sale

Are you cleaning out your office? Do you have extra resource books? Extra posters? Things that you no longer use? Donate them to the MCTM Foundation Book sale.  All proceeds go to the MCTM Foundation fund. Bring them to the Spring Conference in Duluth or email suewestegaard@gmail.com about a possible pickup. 

Spring Conference Activities 

    • Book sale … come look at all the resources that we have … books, posters, etc.  5 items for a $5.00 
    • Quilt Raffle – Buy chances to win a mathematical quilt, designed and stitched by Sue Westegaard.  It includes a rod to use to hang it in your classroom. $5 per ticket and 5 tickets for $20
    • Cornhole game – Please bring cash to play …. 3 bags for $1.  For every hole you get, you choose a prize from a tote of manipulatives.  Your name also goes in for a chance to win the cornhole set. You must be present to win the set – we will choose the winner at noon on Saturday and send a text to the winner. 
    • Donate to the Foundation at the Conference.
