Many of my best experiences have been through MCTM and NCTM. Looking ahead, I see the digital realm opening up more and more possibilities for growth, and I want to be a part of the change and help guide the change. Teacher time for professional growth seems to be dwindling as school demands are continually being delegated to the teacher level. It’s a challenge to re-prioritize these demands so that professional growth still has a space in our daily teaching lives. As a part of MCTM, I hope to provide growth opportunities for teachers without the heaviness of “this is one more thing I need to do” creep into our minds. I hope to communicate the value of growth and instill the motivation for members to become better versions of their best selves.
