MCTM needs volunteers to function. There are a variety of jobs that need to be filled and they vary from very short term commitments to positions on the Board of Directors. To volunteer, please use this link to show your interest. As positions are needed, we will go to this list first!

The volunteer positions we need filled are:

Single Event or Task:

  • Math On-A-Stick State Fair Volunteer (3-5 hour shift at State Fair event, admission to State Fair provided)
  • Math On-A-Stick Set up at the State Fair (1-2 days at State Fairgrounds just prior to the start of the Fair)
  • Auditor of the MCTM Finances (2-3 meetings per year)
  • Spring Conference Technology (3-5 hour shift, assistance at the conference)
  • Delegate Assembly Regional Representative (must be in Duluth for Spring Conference)
  • Regional Ed Camp Volunteer (work with regional director for regional professional development event)
  • Tweet at least once a month for a year using the hashtags #MTBoSmn or #mctmduluth
  • Write an article for MathBits based on your interest or work you are doing in mathematics or mathematics teaching

Task Force Members:

  • Equity Task Force Member (starts 6/2016, monthly meetings, 4 face to face, 8 via phone/computer)
  • Instructional Practice Task Force Member (starts 6/2016, monthly meetings, 4 face to face, 8 via phone/computer)

Committee Members:

  • Communications Committee Member (starts 6/2016, monthly meetings, 4 face to face, 8 via phone/computer)
  • Math On-A-Stick Committee Member (starts 9/2016, monthly meetings, leadership responsibilities)
  • MCTM Foundation Committee Member (starts 6/2016, monthly meetings, 4 face to face, 8 via phone/computer)
  • Professional Practice Committee Member (starts 6/2016, monthly meetings, 4 face to face, 8 via phone/computer)

MCTM Leadership:

  • MN Math Leaders (starts 8/2016, monthly meetings, leadership responsibilities, open to leaders at the school, district, regional, state or national level)
  • Director Region 1 Candidate for MCTM Board (starts 4/2017, monthly meetings, conference responsibilities, leadership)
  • Director Region 4 Candidate for MCTM Board (starts 4/2017, monthly meetings, conference responsibilities, leadership)
  • Director Region 7 Candidate for MCTM Board (starts 4/2017, monthly meetings, conference responsibilities, leadership)
  • High School Vice President Candidate for MCTM Board (starts 4/2017, monthly meetings, conference planning responsibilities, liaison to HS Math League)
