Changes to the MCTM Board for 2016-17

Outgoing Board Members

A special thank you to the following MCTM Board Members who are completing their terms at the conclusion of the Spring Conference in April.

Ellen Delaney – Past President

Sonja Goerdt – Vice President Mathematics Education

Courtney LaRoche – Vice President Junior High/Middle School

Kristin Cayo – Region 3 Director

Mardi Knudson – Region 6 Director

The Region Directors and Vice Presidents serve a term of three years. The nominees serve a four year term: one as President Elect, two as President, and one as Past President.

 

New Board Members

The election results are in and the Board of Directors welcomes:

Emily Larsen – President-Elect

Amy Wix – Vice President Junior High/Middle School

Jessica Rice – Region 3 Director

Jesús Sandoval – Region 6 Director

Finally, the Board welcomes Bill Wietman as Region 1 Director. Bill will complete Amy Wix’s term as she transitions to the Vice President.

 

Changes to the MCTM ByLaws

There have been a few other changes to the makeup of the Board of Directors. As we moved from fall and spring conferences to a single conference in the spring. The Board made the decision to reduce the number of Vice Presidents from six to four. The two post-secondary Vice President positions, Mathematics and Mathematics Education, have been combined into a single position: Vice President Higher Education. Ryota Matsuura position title will change from Vice President Mathematics to Vice President Higher Education. The Vice President At Large position was also eliminated. Karen Hyers held this position and was appointed to the position of Vice President High School which was previously held by Sherri Kruger.
