Through my math lens, I started to think about how we culturally communicate what it means to be a good mathematician. Do students even want to be mathematicians? I wondered what would happen if I simply replaced the word art with math.

Spring Conference CONNECT event info and Summer Interns for summer programs.
As President of MCTM, I am hoping to see each of you in Duluth April 29-30th, 2016 for our annual conference. My favorite part of conferences is the opportunity to network with math teachers from around the state that inspire me. The best ideas and most effective change I’ve made in my own classroom has often come from the people I meet in Duluth each year.

So what might the Learning of Math look like in our classrooms? Here are a couple of areas I am challenging myself in my own practice and I share with you.
Item samplers and teacher guides are available as resources for MCA preparation. The teacher guides give additional information about each sampler item and may be used in conjunction with the samplers. (The online location for both of these is at the end of this post.)
